The purpose of the WB/S Penguins Booster Club is to promote hockey, to support the players and their families, to perform charitable works in the community, and to encourage sportsmanship among fans and players. We have accomplished a lot in our history!

President’s Thoughts By Vicki Silva
This years hockey season has ended for us. I understand that many fans feel that without a playoff, that the competent nature of the sport left a lot to be desired. I do not see it that way. I was/am very happy to have sat in my seat at the arena and watch our players develop. Yes, I know that we will not see P.O. Joseph back here again, but I was very happy to talk to him last year at our meeting and then watch him play here and then move up. I am sad that because of the pandemic we missed a whole year of activities and interaction with the club.
Next season, I hope everything will have returned to normal and that this past experience will have taught us to fully appreciate our team. Again, as the NHL expands and moves on, we are left losing some of our rivals and gaining new ones. I am so looking forward to a few bus trips, meeting new people and renewing old friendships.
I have found that one of the best ways to gain an understanding of our hockey family is to attend the annual booster club convention. I also understand that many fans do not feel comfortable attending a large group of people outside of your personal friends and family. Yet, I also wonder how our grandparents must of dealt with the same issues and over came them to the point that we were last year?
I hope that we can return to our monthly meetings with players, giveaways and interesting conversations. I miss my hockey family, we will be together soon. In the mean time…. Let’s Go Pens!!!! Vick

Hockey is back, well at least virtually. We started out watching our guys in Pittsburgh and soon we will be able to see Wilkes Barre Scranton Penguins on AHL live. This is not the best scenario, but we can still enjoy the home and away games on tv. We are use to watching the away games on tv, that we don’t attend this way.
Congratulations to our new head coach, J.D. Forrest and welcome back to Kevin Porter as our assistant coach. A big welcome back to all of the returning players and to the new players. I am anxious to see our new ones. It’s going to be interesting to see how this shortened season plays out. Of course, we are in probably the toughest division, but win or lose, I will still cheer on our boys.
We are still not having in person meetings as the board has decided that we want everyone to be safe. Unfortunately, this virus is real and has claimed a lot of lives. Pleases stay safe and follow the CDC guidelines.
Looking forward to walking back into the arena with all the improvements to the seating areas, better WIFI, all of our friends and of course who can not forget the over priced food! At least the vaccine has started to be given, so hopefully soon everyone will be protected.

President’s Thoughts By Vicki Silva Happy New Year, I pray that this year is nothing like the past one. I want to see hockey being played, my friends to be free of pain and disease, and of course a Calder Cup in the house. The optimism, that I felt in late December, was that there will be an NHL season starting in mid to late January with the AHL following in a few weeks, hopefully will be coming true. The ECHL started in December, but since a few teams have decided to suspend their season, all of those players have become free agents and teams have started to sign some of those players. This should prove to be very interesting, as the players compete to be seen by an NHL team. The NHL and the players association have officially decided to start playing on January 13th. The training camp in Pittsburgh will start on January 3rd. All teams will abide by the rules of the state in which they reside. The NHL has also temporarily realigned the teams, plus since the borders are still closed, we should not expect to see a Canadian team play against us for a while. Let’s hope that this virus will start to disappear and we can get back to our “normal” lives. You remember, bad official calls, dirty hits, over priced foods and of course a hate towards anything from Hershey and Lehigh Valley. Let’s Go Pens!!!! Vicki
